Upgrade history EDX-5000A

Ver.01.21

Fixed the following bugs.

  1. When you tried to display the calculation CHs on a graph window of the ETA-55A (Main Unit Software), waveforms and numerical values disappeared from the graph window.
  2. The ETA-55A (Main Unit Software) did not execute the “Manual trigger ON/OFF” of the End trigger.
  3. When you executed the over reset, the ETA-55A (Main Unit Software) did not always reset the excessive input over status of slave units.

Ver.01.20

  • Fixed the following bug.
When you started monitoring data with the sampling frequency of 1 Hz, the EDX-5000A stopped immediately.

Ver.01.19

  • The Condition Setting File (*.eta), which was created by using the ETA-55A (Main Unit Software) version 1.17 and before, was not able to be loaded.

Ver.01.18

  • Fixed the following bug.
When the “Balance Adjustment” or “Internal Sensitivity Compensation” was executed during the synchronous operation, despite the fact that the target channel results of the master unit were correct, “Failed” or “Failed (Sensor)” appeared.
When this error occurred, the balance results of the slave units were indefinite values.
  • Fixed the following bug.
Due to the file names saved in the “Data Save Folder”, some data file No. were changed unexpectedly.

    Example:
Suppose the File Name is “TEST1” and File No. is “0”.

In proper operation, the EDX-5000A makes the “TEST10000.ks2” file.
However, when the “Data Save Folder” had the “_TEST10000.ks2” file, an error occurred and the EDX-5000A made the “TEST1001.ks2” file.

  • Fixed the following bug.
When the AD data format was 24 bits during the synchronous operation, you were not able to record data repeatedly.
  • Fixed the following bug.
When the digital channel mode was “Output” during the DIO settings on the ETA-55A (Main Unit Software) on the salve units, items - different from the ones you selected – was set.

    Example:
    A) When you selected the “BUSY” from the “Function” options, the “AD” was set.
    B) When you selected the “CH002” from the “CH” options, the “CH003” was set.

Ver.01.17

  • Fixed the following bug.
When executing the “online control” by using the DCS-100A, the monitoring waveforms did not match the actual waveforms.
Due to this bug, when the data files were recorded with satisfying the following conditions, uncorrectable errors occurred.
・When the [Save Location] is PC.
    ・When using single EDX-5000A (stand-alone).
Note that the data files have no error when satisfying either of the conditions.
*This bug occurs when the firmware version is 1.16.
  • Fixed the following bug.
When using the EDX-3000B Compatible Software (ELA-55A), the CPU usage increased and the PC didn’t perform as well.
*This bug occurs when the firmware version is 1.16.

Ver.01.16

  • Fixed the following bug.
When you operated multiple units – EDX-5000A and EDX-3000B/A or EDX-5000A and EDX-200A – synchronously by using the DCS-100A with the sampling frequency “2n series”, the DCS-100A did not display waveforms correctly.
  • Fixed the following bug.
When you selected the “Point Zero” function during the synchronous operation, the error message appeared and the EDX-5000A did not record data by using the “Point Zero” function.
  • Fixed the following bug.
When the EDX-5000A loaded the ETA-55A setting files (ETA files), the CAN conditions, before loading the files” still appeared.
  • Fixed the following bug.
When you loaded the ETA-55A setting files (ETA files) – which was saved on the slave EDX-5000A – on the stand-alone EDX-5000A, the analog channel No., pre-set on the slave unit still appeared.
  • Fixed the following bug.
Even though the EDX-5000A completed the battery refresh, the “Battery refreshing” icon still appeared on the ETA-55A.
  • Fixed the following bug.
When the “Remote Control: Allow/Deny” on the ETA-55A “Instrument” page was “Remotely control EDX-5000A”, the EDX-5000A did not update the settings on the “Instrument” page.
  • Fixed the following bug.
The ETA-55A did not update the “Max/Min values” of the bar graphs based on the “Deci digits” of the analog channels.

Ver.01.15

  • Fixed the following bug.
During the synchronous operation with different EDX models, the EDX-5000A did not record the GPS data by using the ELA-55A (for EDX-3000B compatible software).

Ver.01.14

  • Data Analysis Software DAS-200A was updated to Ver. 01.34. Therefore, the DAS-200A
included in the EDX-5000A also updated from the Ver. 01.33 to Ver. 01.34.
(For details, see the "Support & Download" of the DAS-200A.)
  • Fixed the following bug.
After controlling an EDX-5000A by using the DCS-100A with the synchronous operation, and when you changed the EDX-5000A settings to the "Stand alone" by using the ETA-55A, the "analog CH No." during the synchronous operation appeared.
(Note that the above bug did not affect the recorded data files. )
  • The settings have been saved by closing the ETA-55A measuring condition window. We have updated the function for saving items even by switching tabs.

Ver.01.13

CPU board, FPGA file, MSYF-55A

  1. Changed the sampling clock to be output continuously from the [CONT OUT].
  2. Fixed the following bug.
When the trigger conditions were satisfied just before start recording data (within 4 sampling frequencies) during the "External trigger", the firmware hung.
  3. Fixed the following bug.
When executed the synchronous operation during the "Manual trigger", the number of recorded data of the master unit and the number of slave units were not identical.

Control Software

Fixed the following bug.

  • When executed the balance adjustment during the synchronous operation, the slave files were overwritten.

Example:

Start monitoring data. Starts monitoring data with the file No. 1.(Data file name: TEST0001_1.KS2)

Start recording data. Saves the data in the TEST0001_1.KS2.

Stop recording data. The file No. becomes file No. 2 and the data file name becomes TEST0002_1.KS2.

Execute balance adjustment. Error occurs. The file No. becomes file No. 1 and the data file name becomesTEST0001_1.KS2.

Start recording data. Overwrites the data in the TEST0001_1.KS2.

  • Fixed the following bug.
When the "Mode of recording" was "External Trigger" and the frequency of the trigger signal voltages (entered to the TRG. IN) fluctuated near that of the sampling frequency, the PC hung immediately after start recording data.
  • Fixed the following bug. Slave units measured the GPS data.
  • ETA-55A: Added the clear function for character strings of scales and numerical values.
  • ETA-55A: Added the swipe function to drop-down lists.
  • ETA-55A: Changed the part of recording conditions not to be set on the slave units.
  • Fixed the following bug.
ETA-55A: When the master unit started recording data while displaying the data confirmation window of the slave units, the monitoring window did not appear on the ETA-55A. (This bug is the problem of displaying data. Note that the units record data correctly.)
  • ELA-55A: Added the static measurements.
  • ELA-55A: Added the "Set Continuous No. of the CH Name" function on the [Set Continuous No. of the CH Name] window. (Pop-up menu → [Set Continuous No. of the CH Name] menu → [Set Continuous No. of the CH Name] window.
  • ELA-55A: Although the arithmetic expressions did not include an analog channel, the “Calculation ON” appeared on the [Set CH Condition] window. (The bug occurred in the Ver.01.12 only.)
  • Fixed the following bug.
When connected the external display, the main-display resolution changed.

Ver.01.12

  • Added the changing function of first channel No. of slave units.
[Example] Suppose the units are as follows.
    Master (64-channel unit), slave 1 (64-channel unit), slave 2 (80-channel unit)
    ・Before: Every 80 channels.
     Master (CH1 to), slave 1 (CH81 to), slave 2 (CH161 to)
    ・After: Variable with unit size.
     Master (CH1 to), slave 1 (CH65 to), slave 2 (CH129 to)
  • Changed the channel No. assignment of KS2 files after merging the KS2 files - recorded by using the EDX-5000A and EDX-200A synchronously - on the DAS-200A.
[Example] Suppose the units are as follows.
    Master EDX-5000A (80-channel unit, CH01 to CH08)
    Slave 1 EDX-5000A (80-channel unit, CH01 to CH08)
    Slave 2 EDX-200A (32-channel unit, CH01 to CH08)
After merging KS2 files, the channel No. of new KS2 file are as follows.

    Before:

Channel No. of KS2 file after merging Channel No. of KS2 file before merging
    CH01 to CH08 CH01 to CH08 of master
    CH09 to CH16 CH01 to CH08 of slave 1
    CH161 to CH169 CH01 to CH08 of slave 2

    After:

Channel No. of KS2 file after merging Channel No. of KS2 file before merging
    CH01 to CH08 CH01 to CH08 of master
    CH81 to CH88 CH01 to CH08 of slave 1
    CH161 to CH169 CH01 to CH08 of slave 2
  • Fixed the following bugs.
When the "Format" is "Extended format" on the "Receiving Cond" tab on the "ECAN Condition Setting" window, the EDX-5000A did not measure CAN data correctly.

The EGPC-50A firmware sorted 8-digit frame IDs by using the lower 4 digits. Therefore, as described in the following figure 1, when multiple frame IDs "00010000 or larger" were specified, the EDX-5000A could not sort the frame IDs correctly and could not measure CAN data correctly.

Figure 1 When the EDX-5000A cannot measure data correctly.

*When the EDX-5000A sorted 8-digit frame IDs by using the 8 digits, the largest was "00030002", followed in order by "00040001". Since the EDX-5000A sorted 8-digit frame IDs by using the lower 4 digits, the largest was "00040001", followed in order by "00030002" and the EDX-5000A could not measure CAN data correctly.

However, there is an exception in the following figure 2.
Suppose the frame ID is xxxxyyyy as follows, the EDX-5000A measures CAN data correctly.
    xxxx: The same value
    yyyy: Sorted in ascending order.

Figure 2 When the EDX-5000A can measure data correctly.

*The EDX-5000A measures CAN data correctly.
    xxxx: 0003
    yyyy: Sorted in ascending order.

  • Fixed the following bug.
When controlling the EDX-5000A from the DCS-100A, the EDX-5000A did not update the current recording CAN waveforms. (Note that the EDX-5000A saved the correct CAN data in the CAN data files (E4A) even when the trouble occurred.)
  • Fixed the following bug.
When entered an arbitrary unit on the "ECAN Cond." window
ELA-55A: The units did not appear on numerical windows or graphs, and the unit information was not saved in CAN data files (E4A).
ETA-55A: The units appeared on numerical windows or graphs, but the unit information was not saved in CAN data files (E4A).
  • Fixed the following bug.
When the "Format" is "Extended" on the "Setting CAN Output Condition" window, the "02000000" to "1FFFFFFF" did not appear on the "Frame ID" on the same window.
  • Fixed the following bug.
When output CAN data with the "Format: Extended" on the CAN output condition window, in spite of the "CAN Comm Std: High Speed", the rear panel LED blinked orange.
  • Modified to initialize the unit without connecting the master unit and slave units.
  • Fixed the following bug.
When initialization failed, only the settings of the EDX-5000A software were initialized.
  • Fixed the following bug.
When executed the internal sensitivity compensation for the DPM-42B-I-F, the range accuracy was not satisfied.
  • Fixed the following bug.
When executed the internal sensitivity compensation for the DPM-42B series (excluding the DPM-42B-I-F) with the "24 bits" AD data format, the range accuracy was not satisfied.

Ver.01.11

Fixed the following bug.
On the [Display Condition] window or graph scale window with the DAS-200A, when the absolute value of the scale value (Time Series graphs, X and Y axes of X-Y graphs) is less than 1.0, the scale value is rounded off to the nearest whole number for display. (The target versions are Ver.01.05 to 01.10.)

[Example]

  • Suppose the scale value is 0.5.
The "1.0" appears by rounding off to the nearest whole number since the absolute value is less than 1.0.
  • Suppose the scale value is 1.5.
The "1.5" appears as it is since the absolute value is 1.0 or larger.

Ver.01.10

Fixed the following bug.
During the synchronous operations and you initialized the internal calibration sensitivity, the master unit was initialized, but the slave units were not initialized. (When the EDX-5000A is a stand-alone unit, and you initialize the internal calibration sensitivity, the unit is initialized correctly. Note that the internal calibration sensitivity is performed correctly when the EDX-50000A is a stand-alone unit or when the EDX-5000A units are performing the synchronous operations.)
